History:

As far as she remembers amaya has always lived at the orphanage in the small village of Horotori, close to the border with the Psychic Aslairin Kingdom. Even at a young age she was always the bravest among the other children, saying to the caretakers "who would protect my brothers and sisters if i didn't do it". Her brave demeanor caught the eye of the orphanage's goodwilled godfather, Lieutenant-colonel Kozoku Hiro of the lunaria empire, who often came over with gifts for the kids. He saw a glint in her eyes and over his next visits began to show her the rudiments of sword training, he was amazed at how quick she learned.

One day, while she was 7 year old, Amaya and 5 other sisters and brothers got lost in a forest and got cornered by 3 hungry wolves. With only an oak stick she had been using as a walking staff, she beat the animals enough to make them flee, though, she was badly hurt from a few well placed wolf bites. But even then, she pushed on through and escaped from the forest, with all the other children , tired but unscathed. She collapsed with a smile on her lips saying only "we're home" before the world became dark.

2 years later, Amaya was coming back from a trip to the capital with Hiro. Seeing black smoke rising in the air over Horotori, they quickly made their way over to the village to find out that the orphanage had been sacked, burnt with the bodies locked inside. This was a hard blow for the young girl, the shock of losing her only family made her lose her voice for the next 6 months. Hiro adopted her and brought her back to the capital. Seeing as the young girl had problem dealing with her family's death he taught her meditation to help her get through this ordeal. The meditation helped her mourn the death of her family and her voice slowly came back.

Seeing her potential with the sword and her quick thiinking, he decided to enroll his daughter into the prestigious military academy. He pulled some string to get her to be accepted at her young age. The much older students, who were around 18 year old, bullied the young 11 year old girl the first few months but quickly stopped after noticing how quick she learned. She soon surpassed the older students and she became to be be known as the 'Young Prodigy' by the other students and teachers.

4 years after she began her studies, the empire declared war against the Aslairin Kingdom. Beeing the first of her class by a long margin, they allowed her to graduate earlier than the others and was promoted to captain of a squad and was sent to the frontline. The more technologically advanced empire struggled against the kingdom, after the initial surprise attack. One evening while out on a stealth mission with two of her soldiers, they were ambushed. Both soldier died and Amaya was knocked unconscious. She awoke strapped to a surgery table in a room with a walkway that ran all around. As the doctor walked in, she noticed 3 man and a woman taking place on the walkway over the surgery room. The next few hours were pain itself as the surgeon planted a needle in her skull to inject something in her brain. The atrocious pain shot out through all her body as she began to scream in pain as loud as she could, tears of blood fell down the side of her face until her body could not take the shock and she fell limp, unconscious.

She awoke a few days later not able to control her own body correctly. She crushed mugs as she was trying to drink, she rammed into walls while only trying to walk, her hands weren't able to accomplish any simple task as eating with chopsticks or brushing her hair. Over the next few weeks she regained her strength and was able to control her movement more carefuly quickly. Using her new found abilities, she escaped from the secret underground facility in the kingdom's territory and tried to make her way over to an empire outpost but collapsed along the way after using too much of her still budding abilities. She woke up in a bed in an hospital in Lunaria, capital of the Lunaria empire and noticed Hiro's head resting on the side of the bed. She moved her hand to take his hand in hers wich woke him up as she broke up in tears. He comforted her the best he could before she began to reveal what happenned to him. After many medical tests, the specialist found an implant at the center of her brain that gave off psychic waves. One of the side effect of the implant's procedure was her eyes, the usually glacier blue color of her eyes had become a dark purplish pink. After she informed hiro of the whereabouts of the facility, he conducted an attack on it but when he came back, he told her the place had been abandonned and nothing was found.

Once she was fit enough to leave the hospital the color of her eyes quickly made her stand out from the crowd. People were changing sidewalk when they saw her, called her a freak of nature or a monster. She began to stay at home, locked in her room, ashamed of what she had become and decided to wear a mask to hide her freakish eyes. She soon went back to the frontlines, wearing a Kabuki mask in the form of a fox head. Over the course of the next 3 years, she Used the implant's abilities to enhance all of her abilities, physically and mentally, she designed many tactics and led many skirmishes that got the empire to gain ground on the kingdom's territory. wich pushed the Aslairin Kingdom to call for a truce wich the empire accepted with conditions. Her mask acting as a wall to the outside world, she grew distant and cold, never removing the mask in front of others, not even Hiro.

As a hero of the war, she was brought in front of the empress herself along with a few other officers. There they stood, in front of empress Tadako and her daughter, Princess Mitsuki. They were thanked for their service, given a medal and a good amount of money for helping the empire win the was. The princess looked over the officers and whispered something to her mother. The officers were asked to leave except for Amaya. Once she was alone in the throne room with the empress and the princess, she was told that the princess chose her as her personnal bodyguard. Amaya was reluctant to accept but accepted nonetheless, her reluctance hidden behind the mask. The next year seemed like a breath of fresh air, despite being but a soldier in the service of the empire, Mitsuki treated her like a friend. and over the year, her cold and distant attitude grew warmer, to let the princess enter into her cold loneliness.

One night ,as the imperial carriage was on route to Fujishiri for a ball, they set up camp for the evening. Amaya was sitting outside the princess' tent while she slept. She suddenly heard something breaking inside the tent and immdiatly sprang up and went inside to see the back flapping to the wind with no princess in sight. she exit from the back and notice a trio of black clothed people with an unconscious Mitsuki on their shoulder. She rushed after them, slowly gaining ground, the kidnappers entered a forest hoping to lose Amaya who jumped from tree branch to tree branch, sword drawn and jump directly on one of the kidnappers slicing right through his body but continued her running. They soon arrived in a clearing before turning to face Amaya, setting Mitsuki to the ground. After a long and harduous fight, she cut down the assaillants before collapsing on one knee. After making sure Mitsuki was okay, she brought her back to the encampment.

Over the course of the next two years, there was many attempts at kidnapping Mitsuki, but they were all foiled by Amaya's keen eye. With the passing of days and with Amaya spending most of that time with Mitsuki, they eventually became close friend and in time she started to get feelings for her charge. Mitsuki often asked her to remove the mask in her presence but amaya always denied the request everytime. One day as the two were alone in the imperial garden, Mitsuki ordered her to remove the mask. Wich she complied reluctantly and then looked at her friend and blinked as Mitsuki moved closer to look at her. The princess smiled softly before leaning forward and planting a soft kiss on her lips wich took Amaya by surprise and immediatly put back the mask to hide the embarrassment 'You are cuter without your mask' was what she said. For the following year, the young couple tried to hide their budding affection from the others. Amaya began to only remove her mask while alone with Mitsuki. One day, while Amaya accompanied the princess on a diplomatic mission within the kingdom's border, Mitsuki bought a Cat Kabuki mask wich she gifted Amaya the same night.

A few day after the two came back, hell broke loose in the palace. Amaya was woken up by a red eyed man who barged in her room, and tried to kill her. She dodged him, using her bed sheet to entangle his sword before jumping over to her dresser to grab her own katana and after a few minutes of back and forth, Amaya dispatched her attacker. She ran out and learned from a fatally wounded soldier that the empress had been assassinated. She then used her abilities to quickly run over to Mitsuki's room, she could hear her lover's scream echoing in the hallway. Upon reaching the door she saw a brown haired woman swing her katana at Mitsuki. Amaya rammed her throgh with her sword, until she hit the window and smashed her right through, letting her fall to her death. she turned over to see a mitsuki running over to her to hug her. After the two lover embrassed, Amaya told her about her mother and that they should escape the palace so that she would be safe, Mitsuki, trying to hold back her tears told her of a secret passage in the throne room that would lead them outside.

They left the room and made their way over to the throne room, encountering other red eyed attacker wich Amaya easily dispatched using her abilities. On the way they encountered a lightly wounded Hiro along with a guard of Lunaria soldiers. the group made their way to the throne room and after entering, amaya helped the some of the soldiers baricade the door. Before she turned around to see two of the soldiers grabbing Mitsuki's arms and heard from Hiro "Grab her", the soldier beside her quickly disarmed her and grabbed her arms forcing her to kneel. Her words lashed at Hiro wich just laughed and walked between her and Mitsukitalking and revealing everything. He had orchestrated the orphanage fire, he had her kidnapped so that his scientist could insert the psychic implants. He told her he was surprised to see that the mind control of the implant had not taken hold and he had to take more drastic measure, getting rid of Amaya. Her skills grew so fast that the assassination attempt was to have Amaya killed, but this too had resulted in failure. He then told her that since she wouldn't stop to survive, he had to spring his plan; kill the imperial family and blame it all on the 'monster bodyguard'. All the while he talked he walked in front of Amaya before moving to Mitsuki. "But killing you won't be enough, I will kill the one you love in front of you and then kill you while you despair. I wonder if you will lose your voice again" he draw his katana as he talked and finished with a laughter. Amaya had tried to free herself, but the soldiers held her strongly, she cursed at Hiro, yelled at him, telling she would kill him, he would just laugh. That is when he thrusted his sword right through Mitsuki, piercing her heart, before he pushed her down, sliding his sword free from her body. "NOOO! MITSUKI!!!!" she then collapsed while still being held by the soldiers, tears rolling down her cheeks. Hiro smugly told her that she should have just died during the implant surgery, he continued with his gloating while not noticing that her tears who fell down from behind the mask had changed to small icicles. Amaya clutched her fist and screamed Kozoku's name just has an explosion of ice flash froze the guards around her, killing them instantly. She grabbed her Katana, wich begun to be engulfed in ice. Hiro ordered his last soldiers to kill her but with a swing of her arms, human sized icicles appeared hovering in mid-air and impaled the soldiers as they ran at her. Amaya then lunged at Kozoku and a long battle ensued, wich finished by Amaya killing Hiro. After repeatedly stabbing him, playing out her own rage on his corpse, she walked over to Mitsuki wich she grabbed in her arms and cried as she hugged her tighly, repeating that she was sorry, that she loved her. She then left the palace, carrying Mitsuki's body, encasing her in ice and using a blue banner to cover her.


A few days later, avoiding the high road, she made her way to the base of a mountain where she buried Mitsuki in her icy coffin, at the base of a cherry tree on a grassy bank in the middle of a river. Over the course of the following year, Amaya had planted flowers all around the tombstone and even built a small wooden bridge made of planks. She also made a small shack where she lived from fruits and vegetables she grew and from the meat she was able to hunt. Now, approaching the anniversary of Mitsuki's death, Amaya was on her knees praying to the soul of her lover....

Effect: The character with this Feat gains a bonus of +2 per 10 points of Dexterity to attack physically.
Example: A character with 60 Dexterity typically has an attack Dexterity bonus of +6. With this feat, that becomes +12.


*Feat 4 (300 XP) - Psionic Attack
Associated Class: Psychic Warrior
Prerequisites:
Description: This character can imbue weapons with psionic energy. This can be placed on martial arts weapons, melee weapons, or even ranged weapons by a talented Psychic Warrior.
Effect: This character may add his/her base psionic damage (without multipliers) to his/her attacks at an MP cost of (Telekinesis Level * 20) (Level 20 = 400 MP) per attack (not hit).

*Feat 5 (400 XP) - > Warlord
Associated Statistic:
Description: The Lord of War is a powerful, charismatic individual who can rally allies and rout enemies with strong words of affirmation and a menacing presence. They are often very respected in martial areas and more traditional civilizations, as this proves them an effective leader.
Effect: +10 to any single 5+-Slot Weapon Proficiency, Speechcraft, +5 Perception, Knowledge: Military Science

*Feat 6 (500 XP, SIF) - Enhanced Dodge
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: This character has quicker reflexes and a keener sense of direction, allowing him/her to avoid or deflect blows away from his/her body, whether it's flipping, blocking, or jumping.
Effect: This improves the Flat Foot, regular Dodge, and Block rolls. Instead of a +1 bonus for every 10 points, the character earns +2 per every 10 points.

*Feat 7 (600 XP) - Rallying Presence
Associated Class: Warlord
Description: When it's time to attack, none can spur on other fighters like the warlord. Whether through rallying inspiration or an enboldened charge from the front, the warlord will alwas take the fight right to the enemy.
Effect: Once per battle, the Warlord may select 3 targets to grant a +10 bonus to all offensive actions, a +50% final physical/magical damage bonus, and Mild "Sharpen" status for 5 rounds.

*Feat 8 (700 XP) - Extra Attack
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: The character exhibits reaction and movement speeds above and beyond that of others, allowing them to take more than one action in a round.
Effect: A character must have at least 200 Dexterity to qualify for this feat. In normal and group combat, character rolls a second initiative at half their dexterity value. This makes the character twice the target as well.

*Feat 9 (800 XP, SIF) - Improved Magic I
Associated Statistic: Intelligence
Description: Some of a mage's talent is natural, bearing a deeper mental expanse than most, having a greater quantity of mana to expend.
Effect: Increases the character's Magic Points (MP), changing the modifier from *5 to *6.

*Feat 10 (900XP) - Object of My Desire (Military science)
Associated Statistic: Intelligence
Description: The character actively pursues and studies one specific piece of knowledge. This can be a historical event, a person, a group, an art movement, etc. However, the character must actively pursue and talk about the knowledge.
Effect: The character gains a +15 bonus to knowledge checks regarding this one very specific piece of knowledge as well as a lower DC when it comes to the obscure about this subject. This knowledge must be specified when the feat is taken.

*Feat 11(1000XP) - Aethereal Conduit

Description: A character exhibits a stronger connection to spirit energy or psionic power.
Effect: +50 Magic Affinity (put in temporary). This does not affect Spell Points.

Description: A character with this feat bears a natural intuition of how magic works, able to hone their spellcasting to nigh-surgical precision.
Effect: For every 10 points in Magic Affinity, the character gains +2 to roll to cast Magic, using the Magic Attack Roll.

Effect: The character can restore his/her MP as a round's action, at a rate of 3 HP:1 MP (3000 HP:1000 MP); this damage is considered unsoakable and can not be healed in combat.

Feat 14(1500XP) - Code of Honor
Associated Class: Samurai
Description: Samurai gain strength from actions of honor, and lose this strength from actions of dishonor. A samurai with this feat must outline their code of ethics and honor.
Effect: A samurai with this feat sits upon a scale of three. ‘Dishonorable’, ‘Neutral’ and ‘Honorable’. Any action suitably honorable (Saving/sparing a live, chivalric actions, bringing honor to an ally) shifts the scale one to the right. (Dishonorable becomes Neutral, neutral becomes Honorable, etc). Any dishonorable action shifts this scale one to the left. While honorable, a Samurai deals 1.5x regular damage with one of the class weapons, which does not apply to critical hits or special attacks. While dishonorable, a Samurai deals 50% less damage. Honor may be instantly restored by KO’ing oneself in combat.

Effect: +50 Magic Affinity (put in temporary). This does not affect Spell Points.
