Adaptation Statistic Feats

The following are feats that describe a character's base performance. These are things that add to a base statistic itself rather than modifying statistic mathematics or adding to a specific skill bonus. These directly affect the statistics themselves and will cover more than one skill or roll.

• The bonuses granted by the Adaptation Statistic Feats do not contribute towards a character's Statistic Milestone progression.
• The Adaptation Statistic Feats that grant you +50 to a Statistic may be taken more than once. Each duplicate requires its own Feat slot.

Damn Healthy
Associated Statistic: Health
Description: The character exhibits stronger-than-average human senses and a body well-resistant to toxins and foreign particles.
Effect: +50 Health (Put in temporary). This grants +5 to the Health Roll. This does not grant more HP.

Sixth Sense
Associated Status: Awareness
Description: This character has sharper senses than most, can see, hear, and smell a little better, and gets "gut feelings" more frequently than most, along with better hand-eye coordination.
Effect: +50 Awareness (put in temporary). This grants +5 to Awareness rolls and +50 to Initiative checks.

Super Speed
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: The character exhibits an unusually dextrous and quick nature, able to move their bodies in unusually quick ways, as well as able to negotiate the world around them in strange ways, such as clearing terrain.
Effect: +50 to Dexterity. This does not affect Style Points.

Super Strength
Associated Statistic: Strength
Description: The character exhibits stronger-than-average human strength.
Effect: +50 to Strength. This grants the character bonuses of +5 to Inventory Slots and Maximum Carrying Weight, as well as Base Damage. The Base Damage boost also goes to weapon damage.

Attuned
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: The character is naturally more inclined to the world around them, whether it's considered "airheaded", abstractly creative, or more in tune with the beyond.
Effect: +50 Spirit (put in temporary)

Damn Lucky
Associated Statistic: Luck
Description: The character exhibits behavior that is strongly smiled upon by fate.
Effect: +50 to Luck. This does not affect luck points.

Below are Feats that affect specific rolls. These may not be taken more than once.

Adaptation
Associated Statistic: Health
Description: The character is able to adjust easily to any environment, and is able to use different pieces of it to their advantage. Example: using pieces of the environment for makeshift shelters, tools, or food.
Effect: +10 to Survival Skill checks.

Animal Friendship
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: The character exhibits a natural empathy with other creatures, and is able to communicate with them (not verbally or telepathically) and understand or influence their behavior.
Effect: +10 to Monster Trainer checks or dealing with Animals.

Breach Cover
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: There's little hiding from this character; whether it's by ricochet, angling, flanking, or just going through it, this character reduces the effect of the environment to protect a target.
Effect: When attacking a target under the "Concealment" status, this character treats that Cover as if it is one severity lower (Acute is treated as "Moderate," Mild is negated, etc.)

Breaching Explosives
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: Expertly using explosives isn't just about making the biggest booms, it's about how those booms are used. This character's learned the angles and ballistics to best serve its needs in the perfect application of demolitions.
Effect: When using Grenades and anti-vehicular weapons against a target under the "Concealment" status, these weapons reduce the severity of the status by one per attack (Moderate becomes Mild, Mild is destroyed).

Creativity
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: The character is a master at thinking 'outside the box', and has a lot of quirky ideas that they may scribble on napkins, doodle in class, or dream about in board meetings. They are able to use this to build elaborate machines, modify existing ones, or figure out special ways to repair existing ones.
Effect: +10 to Craft and Repair Skill Checks

Deceitful
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: You little liar...most of the time not a nice thing to say about someone, but it's the the truth about any character who has this feat. The character is good at tricking people in multiple ways.
Effect: The character Recieves a +10 to Disguise, Bluff, and Diplomacy checks.

Deny the Reaper
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: This character clings to life so intensely it refuses to give up on others. Whether it's channeling the very last bits of its mana reserves or resorting to hitting someone's heart desperately, this character's got what it takes to keep allies from succumbing to death.
Effect: Allows this character to roll one "step" higher when trying to revive a character using magic, First Aid, or other similar measures. This does not affect normal casting rolls, and only activates when trying to save a character from "bleeding out" and approaching their death threshold.

Destructive
Associated Statistic: Strength
Description: This character just loves to break stuff. It always seems to be, well... "just one'a those days."
Effect: When this character performs a melee attack against a character under the "Concealment" status, reduces the severity of the status effect by one level. If performed against a character with Mild "Concealment" status, the cover the target is using is destroyed completely.

Follow Up Questions
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: This character can read a target and get a real feel for the answers it's providing; that gives this character an edge and an excuse to say "let me rephrase the question," an old court room TV trick.
Effect: When this character is using the Gather Information skills to question targets, it may roll twice on the same target to receive two different sets of information, and will be able to tell if the lower of those rolls is considered "false" information.

Green Thumb
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: When it comes to cultivating plants either for food or for aesthetics you have a natural knack for it either by chance or by rearing; be this in the form of the best blossoms or a larger harvest yield.
Effect: You have a +10 to farming, gardening, and other plant raising checks; and should you roll 50% or more of your maximum possible roll you will have a ¼ increase in harvest from what you have grown.

Heightened Senses (Specify Sense)
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: The character exhibits a natural advantage in one of the five senses. If multiple senses deserve this, a feat must be bought for each sense.
Effect: +10 to sight, listen, touch, taste, or smell (Choose one). The character can use this with the Skills under Honed Perception Skills.

Investigator
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: Your character is a master at gathering information through various means be it for good or for bad, and as such s/he has is good at a few choice things in this sometimes murky field.
Effect: The character recieves a +10 to gather info and search checks; and a +5 to spot and listen checks.

Jack of All Trades
Associated Statistic: Variable
Description: Over the course of your experiences you have acquired a variety of unrelated skills all of which you are decent at if not good, though you are a master of none of them. In short, you are something of a Jack of All Trades.
Effect: The character recieves a bonus of +5 to four different and unrelated skills; these skills cannot be related to combat, dodging, magic, or psionics. The four chosen skills must be listed in the feat when it is taken.

Magnum Opus
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: This character isn't satisfied making run-of-the-mill works; it's "go big or go home." It's willing to put in the time and effort to make something awe-inspiring, rather than accept mediocrity or efficiency.
Effect: When this character creates Artisan projects at Level 4 or Level 5 difficulty, may "Take 10" and instead calculate the effect as 75% instead of 50% of the base success roll. If Magnum Opus is used, no other crafting projects can be taken on at the same time. The Magnum Opus project has an increased Auction House chance at 15%.

Master Mender
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: This character is able to negate many common ailments using mundane means, whether it's items from a first aid kit they keep on-hand or sheer force of will.
Effect: Once per mission, this character may remove all status effects from a single character, including some up to Terminal level. Some exceptions will apply.

Medical Miracle
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: This character's knowledge of resuscitation techniques goes beyond standard practices. It can be considered many, many things, but somehow this character is able to bring other creatures back from unconsciousness without the aid of other devices.
Effect: Using standard first aid kit materials, this character may revive a character from Acute "Death" status once per mission at 1 HP. The number of times this may be used in a mission goes up by one each level in First Aid (11 times at Level 10).

Natural Predator
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: You are a predator complete with the instincts of one, finding and obtaining your prey presents no difficulty to you.
Effect: The character recieves a +10 to any hunting/tracking check made in any environment.

Nerdy
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: You love knowing things and it shows. Whether it be from being a bookworm, a webcrawler, a devoted student, you have a great deal of knowledge about a few subjects.
Effect: The character receives a +10 bonus to three knowledge skills of choice and these skills must be listed when the feat is taken.

Object of My Desire
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: The character actively pursues and studies one specific piece of knowledge. This can be a historical event, a person, a group, an art movement, etc. However, the character must actively pursue and talk about the knowledge.
Effect: The character gains a +15 bonus to knowledge checks regarding this one very specific piece of knowledge as well as a lower DC when it comes to the obscure about this subject. This knowledge must be specified when the feat is taken.

Paramedic
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: This character doesn't require fancy magic or technology to get another character up and running again. All it takes is a little styptic, some needle and thread, a knife, and maybe a cigar depending on circumstance.
Effect: Using standard first aid kit materials, this character may restore a target's HP by 10%. This amount is raised by 5% per Skill Level in the "First Aid" skill (60% at Level 10).

Precision Fire
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: While defensive characters train for years to put something between them and danger, this character's spent just as much effort countering that. Whether using ricochets or other offhanded tricks, this character's shots are incredibly difficult to predict.
Effect: This character's ranged attacks are immune to deflection, whether through an advanced skill or other feats that allow for ranged attacks to be blocked or caught. A target can only dodge the attack (some exceptions will apply).

Roundabout Performer
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: The performance arts are your forte, you know how to sing, play an instrument, dance, and/or act; in other words you are a multi-talented performer.
Effect: The character gains a +10 to all performance checks.

Seafarer/Skyfarer/Starfarer
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: Most people are born on land or a planet and spend a good chunk of their lives there, you however are different; you were either raised on a ship of some sort or spent a good chunk of your life on one. You also do not suffer any penalties from not having sea/air/space legs.
Effect: +10 to Navigation, Rope, and Piloting checks for either ships (sea, air, or space). Must choose type at taking of the feat.

Seek and Destroy
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: Claiming a surprise attack isn't just about being stealthy; it can be about speed, planning, or just dumb luck. This character has a certain something about it allowing it to get the jump on just about anyone... intentionally or otherwise.
Effect: Once per target, when this character performs a Sneak Attack against a single target, that single target does not get a Perception check to notice the attack. This does not prevent Perception checks against this character moving around, or normal detection rolls; only Sneak Attacks themselves are affected.

Spiritual Researcher
Associated Statistic: Spirit
Description: This character's intense focus, whether by studying, training, or meditating, allows it to take its innate abilities beyond others'.
Effect: This character seeks new applications for spiritual energy of any kind. When creating a Custom Ability, grants +2 Attribute Points.

Stand Firm
Associated Statistic: Strength
Description: This character's posture is adamant, tough to break, and it possesses the endurance required to sustain itself from blows that would normally stun or trip it.
Effect: Allows this character to reduce the severity of "Off Guard" and "Knockback" status effects levied against it by one severity (Acute becomes Moderate, Mild is nullified, etc.)

Stealthy
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: The character is a natural to taking to the shadows and hiding themselves from sight as well as moving inconspicuously.
Effect: +10 to Sneak Attack, Hide, and Move Slowly skills.

Super Jumping
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: The character is definitely one you don't want to play basketball with, and has the ability to get great air almost worthy of a hang-time meter when jumping.
Effect: +10 to 'Jump' skill checks, and represents an additional distance in the ballpark of five feet.

Swimming Speed
Associated Statistic: Dexterity
Description: The character takes to the water like a fish, and is able to move their body through water regardless of depth or current at an above-average pace.
Effect: +10 to swimming checks. The character also receives a +5 bonus to Strength and Dexterity rolls while in the water.

Vigorous First Aid
Associated Statistic: Awareness
Description: This character is able to rejuvenate another using ... well, something. Painkillers, a shot, a good yelling, fairy dust, or just a good old-fashioned slap on the back to keep them going.
Effect: Once per mission, using standard first aid kit materials, this character may grant a single character an additional 50% bonus Max HP until the end of a battle. Once the battle is over, the character's Max HP returns to normal.
