Blue Magic
The abilities to learn magical techniques from witnessing, experiencing, or capturing them are unique across the multiverse, coming in a variety of different methods and utilization, but they all revolve around learning unorthodox or uncommon abilities from unusual sources, mostly magical entities, enemies, and items. In DW, we refer to it generally as "Blue Magic" in keeping with a mage's color theme of Black, White, and Red.
In order to learn a Blue Magic ability, a character must possess this skill and be struck by an unrestrained spell or technique -- that is, one from a hostile source; a teammate will not cast an unrestrained spell on another teammate, even if the restraint is subconscious. Some status effects may turn teammates hostile and thus qualify their abilities for Blue Magic consumption.
Some blue magic spells can also be purchased in shops or found in items during missions. Blue magic takes many forms.
