Summoning

This school of magic deals with calling forth creatures to do the bidding or wish of the caster. Unlike other magic disciplines, the focus here is not on the spell list, but rather on creatures and asking them to assist you. This magic can in theory be used with any advanced summon (read: Not materia, esper or guardian force), and generally involves the process of finding and approaching the summon, then requesting a pact with it. The person with this pact may be expected to perform in a certain way to maintain the contract.

These spells emphasize the bond between summoner and summoned, and allow for the caster to maintain the creature on this plane or in this location for a longer time than most would believe possible. At the highest levels, it is said that some casters will never be seen without their summoned assistant.
