Ether/Technomancy

Ether magic is not really magic at all, but simply the manipulation of billions of tiny nanomachines that do the will of the user through various programming. Ether magic requires special circumstances due to the electronic and not biological or spiritual nature of the magic, but its users are able to emulate the real magic of the universe to such stunning magnitudes that the two are impossible to tell apart.

True irony strikes with this school of magic, which is literally the magic of science and technology. Technomancy deals intimately with the electronic nature of the modern world and allow a caster to wield modern society itself as a weapon against itself. Just as a Druid is at home in a forest, a Technomage is at home in a busy city street surrounded by cell phones, computer-assisted automobiles, Internet cafes, and corporate servers and supercomputers.

Ether Shift

Effect: An ether spell's element may be shifted to a chosen element. To use this ability, you must have affinity of that element level 2 or higher.

Digital Casting
Cost: 15 SP

Effect: Allows you to cast your spells by using a digital device as opposed to a somatic component or physical gesture. This allows a character to cast spells while under the Silence status effect or other similar magic-preventing (but not anti-magic) effects.

Effect: Recognize a spell cast in the Ether/Technomancy discipline.

Write Basic Spell

Effect: This allows a person to imbue program code with their spell, effectively allowing them to program their own spells.

Effect: Single-target ether spells may be split into an ether field to affect up to 3 people (except full-cures).

Effect: This reserves a small fraction of nanites to serve as a portable mp generator. Although not capable of recharging the character, these nanites are capable of generating 55 mp to use toward a spellcast.

Effect: The cloud of nanites may be extended to a group of 10 targets. Again, this does not include full cure, and does not affect the mp cost of the spell.

Effect: Your ether skills have become sufficient to create an almost mist effect of ether. Your spells are now capable of affecting an entire city block with your spells with no change to mp cost. This excludes full cure spells, and does not affect mp cost.
