Psionics: Ipsokinesis

Ipsokinesis

Although most psionics prefer to apply their strength to external forces and targets, 'adepts' (practitioners of Ipsokinesis), focus on using their enhanced mental capacities internally. They apply the increased capacities of their brain to enhancing their own body, and are capable of pushing themselves to extremes using their spiritual energies. As they develop the skill more and more, adepts are capable of pushing their body further and further, even diversifying into splitting their mental focus across multiple fronts. A master adept is a frighteningly flexible force, enough so that you can never truly be certain where their specialty lies. Overcharging the brain comes at a risk however. Should an adept overuse this ability, they will suffer burnout unless they rest for at least as long as they used the ability (if it is active for 5 rounds, they must rest it for at least 5 rounds). Activating, cancelling, or switching the stat Ipsokinesis is applied to takes 1 round of dedicated concentration, and you must roll burnout even for the round you deactivate the power.

Should you burn out, for every round you spent in Ipsokinesis, you must endure 1 hour with the negative effect to that stat. (For example, if you were using adept to add +200 to a stat for 5 rounds when you burn out, you will suffer a -200 to a stat for 5 hours.

The prime ability of Ipsokinesis is that you may add up to 5x your skill level to any base stat for the cost of casting a spell. It does not affect any permenant value on a character (Skill points, Style points or Spell points), nor can these be used to give you feats. Unlike most customs, there are no customs permitted with this system. The mp cost below is per round.

Level 1 - 10 MP - Burnout chance 1% per round cumulative - Add up to +10 to any stat
Level 2 - 40 MP - Burnout chance 2% per round cumulative - Add up to +20 to any stat
Level 3 - 90 MP - Burnout chance 3% per round cumulative - Add up to +30 to any stat
Level 4 - 160 MP - Burnout chance 5% per round cumulative - Add up to +40 to any stat
Level 5 - 250 MP - Burnout chance 10% per round cumulative - Add up to +50 to any stat
Level 6 - 360 MP - Burnout chance 15% per round cumulative - Add up to +70 to any stat
Level 7 - 700 MP - Burnout chance 20% per round cumulative - Add up to +90 to any stat
Level 8 - 900 MP - Burnout chance 30% per round cumulative - Add up to +110 to any stat
Level 9 - 1200 MP - Burnout chance 50% per round cumulative - Add up to +130 to any stat
Level 10 - 1500 MP - Burnout chance 100% per round cumulative - Add up to +150 to any stat
