General Skills

Listed below are all of the regular Skills for the RPG. The skills are divided up into the sorts of skills they are and also list what Statistic is used primarily for that skill. The use is listed after so that you can find out what the point of purchasing that skill is in the first place.

Skills are acquired by spending Intelligence. You would multiply Intelligence x 4 to determine how many points you can purchase Skills with. At character creation time, a player has 1000 Statistic Points to allocate. Whatever you divide into Intelligence is going to reflect on how many skills you can have.

Example:

Athletics
Statistic: Strength / Dexterity
Used: Both for speed and strength in covering distances, via Running, Climbing, and some similar actions.

Movement Skills

These are skills associated with athletics or physical prowess and capability.

Athletics
Statistic: Strength / Dexterity
Used: Both for speed and strength in covering distances, via Running, Climbing, and some similar actions.
Running Speed:
Level 0 = 30 ft per round
Level 1-49: 30 base +5 ft per skill level
Level 50: 300 ft per round

Acrobatics
Statistic: Strength / Dexterity
Used: Some acts of contortion or body manipulation, such as Balancing and Jumping, amongst some other similar actions.
Jumping Height:
Level 0 - 4: 2' Clearance
Level 5 - 9: 3' Clearance
Level 10 - 19: 4' Clearance
Level 20 - 29: 5' Clearance
Level 30 - 39: 6' Clearance
Level 40 - 49: 7' Clearance
Level 50: 10' Clearance

Swimming
Statistic: Strength / Dexterity
Used: Movement in water or other liquids.
Swimming Speed:
Level 0: 0.1x Running Speed
Level 10: 0.5x Running Speed
Level 20: Running Speed
Level 30: 1.25x Running Speed
Level 40: 1.5x Running Speed
Level 50: 2.0x Running Speed

Roll
Statistic: Dexterity
Used: Essential in dodging attacks or parts of the environment; can be considered the "combat roll."

Reaction
Statistic: Dexterity
Used: Knee-jerk actions, such as blocking incoming attacks or defending against surprises or sneak attacks.

Utility Skills

Perception
Statistic: Health
Used: To perceive the world around a character through bodily senses, such as smell, sight, hearing, taste, or touch.

Speechcraft
Statistic: Half-Intelligence / Willpower
Used: To speak, negotiate, intimidate, or lie to another character convincingly.

Stealth
Statistic: Dexterity
Used: To hide, move silently, perform sneak attacks, steal from targets, and other similar acts of subterfuge.

Sleight of Hand
Statistic: Dexterity
Used: To pick locks, perform subtle tricks of the hand, or to conceal weapons or items on a person.

Computer Use
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Used when performing a myriad of computer-related tasks, ranging from hacking to programming to data surfing.

Gather Information
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Rolled when talking to an NPC to determine how helpful the info you got was.

Search
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Allows for the search of a set area for a set, known object, such as a room for a disc, a portion of forest for a specific plant, or a city block area for someone hiding.

Speak Language
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Allows translation of known languages and conversation in them. Choose the language the character can speak, other than the basic language of the game.
NOTE: This skill need only be purchased with 10 Skill Points to be used. It does not need to be leveled up as others do. To learn a language additionally only costs 10 sp

Concentration
Statistic: Willpower
Used: To resist an action or series of actions from being interrupted by external factors, such as an extended cast or a focus-heavy activity.

Monster Training
Statistic: Willpower
Used: Training and improving the stats of captured monsters. Also used in capturing monsters. This skill is also used for dealing with animals in general outside of training situations.

Perform
Statistic: Willpower
Used: To sing, dance, create works of art, play an instrument, give a comedic routine, and other various sorts of entertainment. Can be used extensively as an Artisan-like skill. This does not require separate skills for separate types of performance.

Decrypt Code/Language
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Decrypting passwords, figuring out languages, etc.

Field Training Skills

Survival
Statistic: Endurance / Half-Intelligence
Used: A general skill that provides bonuses and effects to living and working in adverse conditions and environments.

Disguise
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Fitting in with a group of soldiers, creating matches for people's looks

First Aid
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Treat minor wounds on a victim

Vehicle Operation
Statistic: Dexterity
Used: Used in using, maintaining, and using vehicles in combat. Must take the type of vehicle group known.
Vehicle Groups:
  • Light Ground (cars, motorcycles, etc.)
    Heavy Ground (tanks, APCs, etc.)
    Light Water/Underwater (jetskis, speedboats, etc.)
    Heavy Water/Underwater (patrol boats, cruisers, etc.)
    Light Aircraft (planes, helicopters, etc.)
    Heavy Aircraft (airships, etc.)
    Light Spacecraft (fighters, bombers, etc.)
    Heavy Spacecraft (frigates, capital ships, etc.)
    Light Mecha (powered armor, small mechanical units, etc.)
    Heavy Mecha ("super robots", etc.)
Repair
Statistic: Half-Intelligence
Used: Repair mechanical objects and vehicles

Knowledge and Artisan Skills

Artisan
Statistic: Knowledge - Intelligence / Crafting - Spirit
Used: Learned knowledge about a particular subject and the ability to craft objects related to that field of study. Artisan skills do not have Knowledge prerequisites.
Only the following can be taken as Artisan skills:
  • Tailoring
    Blacksmithing
    Gunsmithing
    Engineering
    Arcane Science
    Architecture
    Vehicles
    Botany
    Writing
    Medicine
    Cooking

Knowledge
Statistic: Intelligence
Used: Studied or learned knowledge about a particular subject. Knowledge skills can be extremely varied, either vague or specific, and can be character-specific.
Examples of possible knowledge skills:
  • Mathematics
    Metallurgy
    Woodworking
    Chemistry
    Physics
    Biology
    Military Science
