Whips
Whips were instruments of threat and pain more than warfare. Originally used to train and punish livestock and slaves/servants alike, the whip eventually grew into an offensive utility weapon and handy sidearm, a strong enough whip and a talented enough user able to lay low much more heavily armed -- and armored -- soldiers or fighters ahead of them with nary effort. The rope-like quality of the whip makes it chock-full of utility, ranging from helping cross environmental hazards to striking things out of reach.
The whip itself is a long strip of material with a head on it. The whip is used in a swinging, then "Cracking" motion, striking a target with the end of the weapon or simply using the snap of the whip (faster than the speed of sound!) to intimidate or frighten some creatures, or harm the sensitive hearing of others. Inventive whip users discovered multiple lengths could be added to the whip, making it increasingly more dangerous and painful. These "tails" gave way to such exotic devices as the "cat of nine tails," a flaying whip with nine individual lengths of whip fastened to the same grip.
The whip is considered a 1-slot weapon due to its ability to be coiled. The rope-like nature of a whip allows it to double as a length or two of rope depending on situation, and the whip itself can be used in many utility actions, such as attempting to disarm an opponent (Attack vs. Defense, then Strength vs. Strength), bind an opponent (Attack vs. Defense, then Strength vs. Strength when it's attempted to be broken), or inflict Mild "Pain" status effect on a target when struck.
The whip is unable to use combination skills or combo custom abilities, but instead adds combo hits by purchasing additional "tails" for the weapon, found under Weapon Modifications. The whip is also unable to block or be blocked by other weapons or martial arts.

The whip is a unique weapon in that, rather than being trained to swing it multiple times, the weapon itself can be crafted with multiple "tails", or lengths of whip, to inflict extra damage.
