Maces

The mace as an infantry weapon was generally used in close-quarters as an alternative to a sword, able to bring down increased damage on an armored or guarding opponent. These "bastard children" of clubs were often adopted to less offensive means, and have functioned as a mage's weapon in many spiritual civilizations throughout the galaxy as replacements for staves due to their smaller size.

The mace consists of a large head attached to a club or a baton, which forms an entirely new weapon and style of fighting altogether. The head of a mace can come in many different forms, whether spiked, bulged, or smooth, decorative or plain, cheap and improvised or ornate and mass-produced.

Maces are considered 5-slot weapons and due to their top-heavy design, are not compatible with blocking other weapons. Oppositely, when the mace is used against a blocking opponent, the user deals non-soakable half-damage to the blocker even if successful (normal hits are still soaked). In addition, the mace reduces armor soak of a target by 10% (up to 50% total) per hit until repaired, and inflicts Moderate "Bleed" status with each normal attack (not cumulative with other effects). The mace can be used with custom abilities and combo attacks.
