Scythes
The scythe originated as the sickle, both of which were originally used by farmhands to cleave crops. When these ultra-sharp blades were discovered to sunder creatures and enemies just as easily as they did grain, they were instantly turned into wide-swinging weapons used by specialists or overly showy or intimidating killers. While not reaching the popularity of other weapons amongst classical armies, they were popular with individual officers or monastic orders.
The scythe blade is razor-sharp on the inside curve of its long, crescent blade, and comes to an equally sharpened point. The blade is typically attached to a pole that is sometimes two meters or more long, and is typically swung in an extremely wide arc to strike as many opponents as possible rather than focusing on a single one.
Scythes are incredibly difficult to wield weapons but carry excellent perks. They are considered 6-slot weapons and thus light enough to block other weapons with. Their cleave advanced skills allow them to hit more targets than any other melee weapon, and critical hits carry a small chance of inflicting an instant kill on a weakened enemy; this is the weapon of choice for the Grim Reaper for a reason.
