Grenade Launchers

After the advent of the grenade came the necessity of the grenade launcher, in order to project grenades further away from the user than before, for safety and effectiveness reasons. Making the projectiles detonate on impact also gave the shooter a great advantage over thrown weapons, which required a countdown to activate and gave targets time to recognize and move away from the projectile.

Grenade launchers come in two varieties: individual grenade launchers and multiple grenade launchers. As their names suggest, the differences are mainly in the weapons' rate of fire. Other differences include size, versatility, and frequency of availability.

Grenade launchers, like other explosive weapons, operate on a Reaction DC method of striking. The radius of a projected grenade blast is generally smaller and more focused than that of a thrown grenade, and grenade launchers inflict splash damage across a small number of targets rather than detonating an entire room. Splash damage reflects the number of targets that can be attacked by a grenade launcher in a single attack.

Grenade Launchers can be used by the following skill: Weapon Proficiency: Heavy Weapons.

Multiple Grenade Launchers

MGLs are the bigger, meaner brothers of the individual grenade launchers. These weapons are bulky, dangerous, and powerful, with the ability to empty an entire magazine of grenades into an area in an extremely short time. MGLs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but are all geared for one thing: destruction.

MGLs are considered 12-slot weapons and cannot fire special ammunition. These weapons are, however, able to enact Moderate "Suppressing Fire" effect. However, when performing Suppressing Fire, the MGL must be reloaded after each round with a round's action.

Family: Suppressing Fire
Description: The target takes attack damage depending on the action taken
Affects: Biological, Robots
Moderate: [Medium] Anyone who melee attacks during the round of suppression is struck automatically. (it is ASSUMED that if you are not melee attacking, you had the good sense to find cover. Do not abuse this assumption.)
