{IMPORTANT NOTE}

A crafted piece of equipment may only have 1 natural property, whether it comes from Melchior's handiwork or from an item used in crafting.

---Smithing Tutorial---

When crafting a piece of equipment, you get one roll. The objective is to at least make the first DC on the item listed. Making the second DC creates a 'Quality' item. Making the third DC creates a 'Masterwork' item. For example:

Name: Denzium Sword
Price: 10,000 gil
DC to Make: 40/70/100
Augmentation Slots: 4
Roll Bonus: +12
Damage Modifier: +100
Skill Level Required: 1

Roll Smithing. This roll cannot be boosted by assists or buffs.

If you roll at least 40, you make a regular Denzium Sword.
If you roll at least 70, you make a Quality Denzium Sword.
If you roll at least 100, you make a Masterwork Denzium Sword.

'Regular' equipment simply has the listed stats.

On a 'Quality' weapon, roll 1d2.
1-Increase roll bonus by +1.
2-Increase damage modifier by +25.

On a 'Quality' light shield, block bonus +1. For a heavy shield, roll 1d2.
1-Block bonus +1.
2-Reduce dodge penalty by 1.

On a 'Quality' armor, roll 1d2. On light armor, roll 1d3.
1-Physical Soak +25.
2-Magic Soak +25.
3-Dodge bonus +1.

On a 'Quality' casting aid, roll 1d2.
1-Bonus +1.
2-Nature slots +1.

On a 'Quality' accessory, roll 1d2.
1-Max enchantment level +1.
2-Natural Property +1.

On a 'Masterwork' weapon, roll 1d3.
1-Increase roll bonus by +1. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
2-Increase damage modifier by +25. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
3-Increase augmentation slots by 1.

On a 'Masterwork' light shield, roll 1d2.
1-Block bonus +2.
3-Augmentation slots +1.

On a 'Masterwork' heavy shield, roll 1d3.
1-Block bonus +1. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
2-Dodge penalty reduced by 1. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
3-Augmentation Slots +1.

On a 'Masterwork' medium or heavy armor, roll 1d4.
1-Physical Soak +25. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
2-Magic Soak +25. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
3-'Stat' slots +1.
4-'Support' slots +1.

On a 'Masterwork' light armor, roll 1d5.
1-Physical Soak +25. Roll again, a 1d3. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
2-Magic Soak +25. Roll again, a 1d3. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
3-Dodge bonus +1. Roll again, a 1d3. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
4-'Stat' slots +1.
5-'Support' slots +1.

On a 'Masterwork' casting aid, roll 1d3.
1-Bonus +1. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
2-Nature slots +1. Roll again, a 1d2. This reroll cannot be taken a second time.
3-Augmentation Slots +1.

On a 'Masterwork' accessory, roll 2d2.
1-Max enchantment level +1.
2-Natural Property +1.

After making the roll, the equipment will be finished in:

5 days for Tier 1 gear.
10 days for Tier 2 gear.
15 days for Tier 3 gear.
20 days for Tier 4 gear.
25 days for Tier 5 gear.
30 days for Tier 6 gear.

For each assistant on the project, you may reduce the crafting time by 1 day. The assistant must remain working on this for the entirety of the project. Through this manner, you can reduce the crafting time for a piece of gear down as far as 1/2 of its crafting time, rounded up(5 to 3 days, 10 to 5 days, etc). Assists do not add to the crafting roll for gear.

If you roll low on smithing or simply want to get a better quality item, you are welcome to roll again the next day and can start the crafting time period then at a +5 from the previous day. You can only roll once per day on each item, however.

---Auction Quality---

Roll 1d100 once the item is complete. If you rolled a crit on your smithing roll, this roll receives a +5 boost. If you rolled a divine, make it a +10.

The DC for a regular item to make auction is 100.
The DC for a Quality item to make auction is 98.
The DC for a Masterwork item to make auction is 96.

If the item makes auction, give it a value bonus of 25% and roll an additional 'Masterwork' upgrade even if you have rolled for a 'Quality' or 'Masterwork' upgrade already. The auction rank is determined by what tier this item is in.

Tier 1 gear - Rank C
Tier 2 gear - Rank B
Tier 3 gear - Rank A
Tier 4 gear - Rank S
Tier 5 gear - Rank SS
Tier 6 gear - Rank SSS
