The Epic Encounter stats should only be looked at if encountered. Spoil at your own risk.
Name:
Lightning Treant

Flee: Athletics DC 50

2-99 The Treant will only act to defend itself, and will leave you alone once you are knocked unconscious.
1 The Treant still only acts to defend itself. Fooled you.

Reward (1d100)
91-100 - Scroll of Lightning: The Scroll of Lightning Storm (worth 210,000 gil) is capable of invoking the Lightning Storm ability once. (Note, this targets both allies and enemies, wear lightning protection)
65-90 - Treant Bark: The bark of a treant, worth 35,000 gil, can be used to bestow SOS Regen on any crafted armor or accessory when it is crafted.
35-64 - Treant Sap: Treant Sap is capable of being refined by potionsmasters into 1d5 Megaelixirs at no cost (DC is as per crafting 1 Megaelixir)

Description:An outright terrifying monster that first appears to be a dead tree covered in moss, it's branches bared. These monsters are the size of a colossus and wield awesome destructive power. This is not a monster to be encountered lightly. The legend goes that a treant unfortunate enough to be struck with lightning goes insane, capable of harnessing that energy in destructive forms. This monster is the wrath of nature personified.

With any vitals being out of the range of melee attack normally, this is a daunting and dangerous foe to encounter. Only the bravest and most skilled warriors would dare take it on, though it is rumored there are mighty rewards for those who do.

Weapon of Choice:

Initiative:

Main Body
HP: 3000000
MP:N/A
Dodge:1d160+75
Physical Soak:6000
Magical Soak:5000
Element:Earth/Wind

Branches (x4)
HP: 300000
MP:N/A
Dodge:1d180+85
Physical Soak:2000
Magical Soak:2000
Element:Earth/Wind

Attack Behavior: 1d10
**SPECIAL**
Defeating the Lightning Treant gives a one time bonus of 30 xp

When a branch is killed, melee attackers may use it to climb onto the treants body and make attacks at the body. When the branch is revived, a balance check of DC 200 is required to remain on it, or an athletics check DC 150 to jump to another dead branch should one exist.

When the main body is destroyed, the monster dies.

Each branch killed reduces the number of hits it can make per attack.

The treant suffers no damage from it's Earth/Wind affinity, but is vulnerable to Fire.

1, 2, 3, 4:Branches - 1d220+105 (1d5 x 8000): The Treant will attack with it's branches, slamming them down like clubs into the ground. This works slightly differently in that each of the 5 hits can target a different person in the fight. If hit, the target is also knocked down. The number of hits is reduced when a branch is killed.
5:Lightning Storm - 1d240+115 (Continuous 5000): Once summoned, the lightning storm will continue to rain 4000 unsoakable damage on a random target once per round. This requires a reaction DC 200 to avoid. Should this hit the Treant, it -gains- an additional 15000 hp (which can put it above it's maximum HP to a maximum of 4,000,000)
6, 7:Thundaga III - 1d230+115 (9000): The lightning treant summons a blitz of lightning on 3 targets for a total of 9000 damage per target. A bolt can not strike the same target twice
8:Berserk - N/A (N/A): For the next 1d3 rounds, the Treant will only use its branches to rage upon the party as though a '5' were rolled on the number of hits every time (assuming all five branches are alive)
9:Restoration - N/A (N/A): The treant revives 1d5 of it's dead limbs to living status.
10:Quakaga - 1d200+195 (10000): The treant uses it's roots to shake the ground, disrupting the parties footing and dealing 5000 damage to anyone who can't pass the dodge DC as well as knockdown.
